The Grant Application Process
Now that the 2020 grant amount has been announced, we wanted to share a bit more about the grants process. THIS is where we hear about the transformational ideas our local area non-profits have been dreaming about. Who’s excited?
Impact 100 Southern Indiana provides a grant each year to support transformational change in our community. Grants are available to organizations that serve Clark, Floyd, or Harrison counties and have a physical location in at least one of those counties.
The women who donate to Impact 100 Southern Indiana pool their resources to invest in transformational change in our community. Past grants include:
  • 2017: St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Charities’ built a training kitchen in their New Albany location. (Grant Amount: $50,000)
  • 2018: Hope Southern Indiana launched a Self-Esteem Boot Camp for young girls. (Grant Amount: $100,000)
  • 2019: Home of the Innocents plans to remodel and expand their services to more at-risk children in our community. (Grant Amount: $106,000)
The recipient of our grant in 2020 will use the funds to support transformational change in one of these five areas:
  1. Arts & Culture
  2. Education
  3. Environment & Recreation
  4. Family
  5. Health & Wellness
Our grants process opened on July 9th, after the announcement of the grant amount ($87,000 this year)! Interested organizations should submit a letter of intent to by July 31 at 6:00 p.m. Please note that a letter of intent is required to apply for a grant.
Grant applications are due September 11 at 6:00 p.m. Instructions for submitting the grant application are on our website at Once all applications are received the grants are reviewed by our Impact 100 Southern Indiana members. The grant projects are evaluated using a point system that is outlined in the application. The top three or four grant applications move forward. Impact 100 Southern Indiana members select a finalist at our annual meeting.
Now that we discussed the nuts and bolts of the grant process, we want to remind you that our team of volunteers is here to help! We want to help our local non-profits submit the best possible application. We are always available by email, but will also host a series of grant information sessions as we get closer.
